It means "Ga Rye"a state wedding, which appears in the "Ga Rye Do Gam Eui", a book about a state wedding. "Ga Rye" is wedding ceremony of royal family; Specially it means wedding ceremony og the king, the crown prince or the grandson og the king. In the book of Ju Rye, Ga Rye is explained as E Ga Rye Chin Man Min, which means the ceremony that all people can partcipate. Ga Rye consists of six procedures. Because it needs many manpower during the certain amount of time, Ga Rye Do Gam is organized as temporary organization to control the ceremony. The Ga Rye Do Gam Eui Gwe was written to leave behind records to the next generation.
Yuk Rye, the six procedures of "Ga Rye" are follwed by.-Nap Chae: sending the messenger to the palace where the preliminary selected queen has lived.
¡ØThe preliminary queen selected through 3 selection procedures was moved from her natal house to a detached palace to learn the royal court courtesy and a state wedding process.
-Nap Jing: sending the gift to the deatched palace as a mark of marriage. -Gogi: selecting an auspicious day. -Chaek Bi: ceremony of installation of the queen. -Dong Roe: at the night of bride-greeting day,the king and queen bow down the each other and exchange the liquor. Chin Yeong and Dong Roe served the same purpose as a modern engagement ceremony.
